Jocelyn is a Pre-Licensed Professional, MA with a Bachelors in Psychology from Aurora University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University. Jocelyn comprehends that seeking help is a hard step to do. Her goal is to provide a comfortable space on where she can be a guide to her clients and aid them in feeling better about themselves and life. Jocelyn focuses on developing rapport with her clients in order to create a strong relationship, allowing them to adjust to the therapeutic process. She strives to help her clients gain a better understanding about who they are and reinforce their abilities to be more resilient. Jocelyn believes that those who have gotten out from their comfort zone and have taken the first step to initiate counseling, in that moment things can move towards a positive direction. Depending on the presenting issue, she likes to integrate various therapeutic interventions and techniques that focus on the clients emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. She commonly uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Client Centered play therapy. Jocelyn has worked with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, and Family Conflicts. Jocelyn is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults and offers counseling sessions in English and in Spanish.
Jocelyn characterizes herself as warm, understanding, and non-judgmental. Outside of counseling, during her free time Jocelyn likes to spend time doing some self-care including watching her favorite shows, listening to music, and having some family and friend time including time with her Pomeranian dog.
