Kat is a compassionate Licensed Social Worker (LSW). She holds a master’s degree in social work (MSW), specializing in children and adolescents.
Kat provides a warm, non-judgmental space and tailors every session to meet the unique needs of each client. She utilizes a holistic approach using techniques from evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). She is open to using play, art, writing, music, and other forms of creative expression to help clients process feelings and experiences. Kat can incorporate animal-assisted therapy into her work, partnering with her certified therapy dog, Roger. His calming presence helps clients feel safe and supported, becoming a trusted companion in their healing journey. Roger was professionally trained by Canine Companions, and you can read more about him HERE.
Kat works with clients in areas such as anxiety, depression, attachment, adoption, trauma, academic and behavioral challenges, social skills, ADD/ADHD, self-esteem, and issues related to life changes and transitions. Kat enjoys working with individuals of all abilities. In her spare time, Kat enjoys spending time with her kids, spoiling her senior rescue dogs (along with her blind pet pigeon), and appreciating nature. She also loves volunteering at animal rescues, senior/nursing homes, and an organization helping individuals who are facing homelessness.
