Meet Roger, the incredibly sweet-natured therapy dog who shares an office with Kat. Roger is here to bring comfort, joy, and support to clients. Born an adorable fluff-ball on July 19, 2023, Roger was destined for greatness (maybe just not the kind that everyone expected!). Roger’s journey began in the Canine Companions program with the goal of becoming a service dog. He spent the first 22 months of his life learning a variety of commands and excelled with his laser sharp focus and willingness to please (of course his love of food rewards was also quite motivating).
However, the rigorous demands of professional training became a bit much because of his sensitive nature, and he was released from the service dog program due to some anxiety. Rather than seeing this as a setback, the trainers recognized that Roger would make an outstanding therapy dog, and this led him on the perfect path to his true calling. Roger knows what it is like to feel a little unsure, making him an exceptional, empathetic calming presence in the therapy room. He works side-by-side with Kat, providing a non-judgmental furry ear, a gentle paw, and a soothing connection.
Roger has passed the Canine Good Citizen test (AKC CGC) and is certified as a therapy dog through Canine Companions. He participates in ongoing training and completes annual evaluations.

*Roger has 8 siblings (born 7th in a litter of 9), and they all have names that begin with the letter R.
*Roger was born in California
*Roger has a goofy side, playing with toys and laying on his back for belly rubs
